OBSERVATIONS

Match to be carried out in a good sportsman like manner.

Riders identified by race jackets:

Ronnies Rebels: White and Blue

Oreti Stormers: Yellow and Green

Tasman Tigers: Red and Black

Races are over four laps, clutch start

Race points are awarded as follows:

1st - 3pts, 2nd - 2pts, 3rd - 1pt, 4th - 0pts.

Match decided by race points,

ie: team that scores the most race points over the 13 heats wins the match.

A rider finishing 2nd or 3rd immediately behind his team partner is awarded a bonus point.

Bonus points do not count towards the match score, they are only used for the calculation of riders averages.

Starting gate positions are decided by toss of a coin on parade by the team captains.

Visitors call and winner can choose inside (gates 1 and 3) or outside

(gates 2 and 4) for first race.

Gate positions alternate after that.

It is up to the team partners in a race to decide who takes the inside

and who takes the outside of the gates they are allocated.

A team is made up of 7 riders.

Riders 1 to 5 are the main body of the team,

riders 6 and 7 are the reserves.

All riders must have a minimum of 2 rides per match, unless declared unfit by the track medical officer.

If a team is 6 or more points down after heat 4,

they may use a tactical substitute.

Any other rider in the team may be used as a tactical substitute.

A rider may only be used as a tactical substitute once during a match.

If a rider in the top three of his teams averages is unable to compete in a match (due to injury, sickness, or contractual obligations elsewhere),

then that team may employ a guest rider from another team.

The average of the guest rider must be below that of the rider

he is replacing.

If no suitable guest is available, the team may use the rider replacement rule where the rides of the absent rider are shared between his other team members.

Each rider in the team may only have one rider replacement ride per match.

A reserve (riders 6 or 7) may be bought into a race as a replacement at any stage in the meeting.

If a rider touches or breaks the tapes, they are excluded from that race.

A reserve (rider 6 or 7) may be bought in as a replacement.

Riders may have a maximum of 5 rides per match

(6 if team is using rider replacement rule).

Flags Displayed During a Race:

Red - race has been stopped (riders slow down immediately).

Black - Rider excluded as primary cause of race being stopped.

White - riders entering last lap.

Black / White chequered - race finished.
