New to Kiwi League Speedway..??
Kiwi League Speedway racing generally consists of four riders competing in four lap races called heats.
Riders race on custom 500cc motorcycles that accelerate from a standing start faster than a formula one car......and yet
have no brakes...!!
At the end of a heat, riders are awarded 3 points for a win,
2 for a second,
1 for a third
and the last finisher gets zero.
Matches consist of 13 heats.
In these matches,
two riders from each team
will take to the track in any one heat.
The teams are distinguished by their race jackets.
At the end of each heat, the points scored by the two team members are added together to provide a heat score for that
team.
These scores are progressively added over the 13 heats to decide the winners of the match.
In this programme, you will find a race card to help you keep track of the score.
If you get lost, ask the person next to you for help, we were all new to filling out programmes once.....!!
